Launch Log!

Greetings Everyone,

Just release my newest game, The Gift Giver....

Kinda nervous, kinda excited. This game took me a hot minute to make as I am new to this type of development.

The game is currently in what I like to call its "ALPHA" phase. This demo is really a one shot for what I would like to expand on in the future.

My thoughts in starting this project:

1. I wanted to make an animation rich visual novel to enhance the 'viewing' experience
2. I wanted to make a story rich visual novel (mostly been making non-story puzzle games in the past)
3. I wanted to make a hentai game as I myself am a connoisseur
4. I wanted to make a game focused on impregnation harem type story (not everyone’s cup of tea, but make what interest you...or in this case me)

What I plan to improve or fix going forward (also what I learned):

1. Spelling and grammar….yes yes after uploading I noticed many spelling and grammar issues. Which is bad for a visual novel game but English is my first language and I cant speak it well so I will work on proof-reading.
2. Animation files are REALLY big, and I use them liberally. Thinking of using static photos in certain key areas or finding ways to reduce the video file size. This is hard as WEBM files work best for Renpy but they are naturally big, and to get good loops they need to be 8 secs. Areas to improve later.
3. Right now a one-shot, but plan on adding a lot of new features and story elements.
4. Adding a harem system to wine and dine your favorite waifus.
5. Adding an economic mini-game focused on the Cinder app to work a Stud Stable of sorts (Donate seed for cash)
6. …….maybe tempering expectations on timelines.

I am just glad that I got this one out the door. Time to re-group and see what I can improve upon.
